Confirmation and Pre-Confirmation at FCPC

Pre-Confirmation

Confirmation at Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church is a multi-year, multi-layered process. Young people enter into this process during the middle school years. During the pre-confirmation years (grades 6-8), a foundation is built to prepare students for claiming God’s promises when they are confirmed in 9th grade. Explorations of the Old Testament, New Testament, the person and work of Jesus Christ, and basic tenets of the Christian Faith and Reformed Tradition are covered in fun, interactive sessions over a three year series.  Preconfirmation attendance or a home study course are required to participate in Confirmation in 9th grade.
Pre-Confirmation meets Sunday mornings at 11:15 am
8th grade: room 301
7th grade: room 302
6th grade: room 306

Confirmation

Confirmation is a special time (8-10 weeks) in the faith journey set aside for questioning, wondering, doubting, seeking, searching, and growing.   It is a welcome and beginning of a new life and commitment in God’s family, the Body of Christ.  At the end of the confirmation process, students will have the opportunity to express their growing faith in Christ as Savior and Lord and their desire to be part of the Body of Christ. Confirmation at FCPC is primarily targeted for the 9thgrade year, but older youth may be confirmed if they have not done so.  See the confirmation schedule for times and locations of class, retreats, service projects and events.
