Age 3 to PreK
As children enter the preschool years, they are able to begin to engage in the life of the church family in special ways. They begin to know their grown up friends in worship and look forward to seeing their teachers each week. Bible stories and songs capture their attention and imagination. Children learn to wonder about God’s world, celebrate God’s love for us in Jesus, and to love one another the way Jesus taught us.
- Childcare (8:30-10:00, room A-109) There are no classes for children age 3-PreK during this time, however these young children are welcome in our Childcare Room (usually reserved for infants and toddlers) during this time. In the Childcare Room children can enjoy supervised, unstructured play while their parents attend the 8:30 Cup and Loaf Worship Service or carry out other responsibilities around the church.
- Celebrate Children & Worship (10:15–11:00, room A-236/238) Children begin the worship hour with their parents in either the Sanctuary (for traditional worship) or the Fellowship Hall (for H20 worship). About 15 minutes into the service the children are dismissed and follow their shepherd to the Celebrate Children & Worship class. There the children are guided into activities and learning centers that support the Bible story. Through the use of learning centers and play children learn about God’s love and Jesus’ model of Christian discipleship. Parents of the children and other adult friends rotate to assist the coordinator (Barbara Patterson) in moving the children through their learning centers. Children who plan to attend class should sign in at the table outside their worship space.
- Going Deeper With God (11:15-12:15, room A-236/238) Going Deeper With God utilizes small group discussion, learning centers, and real life application, to delve deeper into the day’s Bible story concept. This class is ideal for parents who wish to participate in the 2nd Hour of Education.
