FCPC Parent Programs & Classes
Jehovah, Java & Juveniles Sundays—8:50-9:30a.m. in S-201 (down the hall from choir room) This is an informal discussion group over coffee, where we tackle tough questions about raising kids to know Christ in a complicated world. This group provides support, laughs, encouragement and ideas on how to survive parenting today. Couples and individuals welcome and newcomers can join in any time!
M.O.P.S. 1st & 3rd Tuesdays from 9-11a.m. in the Seminar Room (old youth lounge downstairs) Mothers of Pre-Schoolers is a national organization that is about empowering women of young children to be the best they can be. This year’s theme is “Life on Planet Mom”, and the schedule is packed full with speakers, projects, crafts and fun. Mothers can come while the kids are in pre-school, or bring them along to participate in MOPPETS, a curriculum based childcare class just for M.O.P.S. participants.
Moms In Touch Fridays from 9:30-10:30 in the Library Get together with other moms of kids in K-12 to pray for the schools, teachers and kids as education in happening. Learn how you can host a group in your area!
Parenting TwoGether Wednesdays from 7-8:30p.m. in the Seminar Room
This is a TwoGether Pittsburgh class on how to grow as a couple through the impact of children in a marriage. Communication, conflict resolution, maintaining balance and goal setting together will be covered. This is a 6-week class in conjunction with LOGOS, so kids programming is available.
Parenting Mini-Series 10/4, 10/11 & 11/1 (Sundays) from 10:45a.m.-12:15p.m. in the Chapel
This is a 3-part series on several parenting hot topics including “Avoiding Overindulgence” (10/4), Raising Responsible Kids (10/11), and “The Social Lives of 10-15 Year Olds” (11/1). These workshops are led by professionals from Anchorpoint Counseling Ministries (formerly North Hills Youth Counseling Center). Childcare will be extended long enough for you to participate!
