Basement Renovation Pictures (Click Here)

The disastrous rains of August 2007 flooded the basement and pointed out the need for significant steps to prevent a recurrence of damage to church property and curtailment of ministries. We want to keep this from happening again:

A thourough study of our property and the surrounding topography necessitated that we "solve our own problem" by providing a way to hold back or detain the water that runs off our parking lot and roofs. We are unable to dig a pit or pond area without significantly destroying the beauty and symmetry of our property and causing a potential hazard. The following area will be excavated and two large storage (detention) tanks will be placed underground. They have been designed to hold water until the storm drains can accept the water without causing downstream flooding.

The contractor began digging on July 29th. Initial work will be to replace the aging drain around the base of Fellowship Hall. New pipe of greater diameter will replace the line from Glenhaven Road. New sewer inlets will be placed to accommodate the increased flows. Two (2) large (100') pipes will be buried to act as a detention system.

The first load of piping arrives on August 1st:
