2017-2018A non-refundable, registration fee of $50.00 applies to each family and is payable at the time of registration. Yearly tuition may be paid in two installments due September 1, 2017 and January 15, 2018. Families needing additional payment options may contact the Preschool Director. Tuition is non-refundable except under extenuating circumstances. Please note that our Preschool closes at 12:00 pm the last Thursday of each month for our Teacher In-Service. Enrollment is available for both morning and afternoon programs.
TWOS: (*Child must be two years old prior to September 1, 2017.) Children learn about God’s love through the words and actions of teachers, friends, and family. Primary focus is on socializing with others, learning a routine and increasing self-confidence, particularly in a small group setting. Children discover new ideas and concepts and experience group play with an emphasis on simple Biblical virtues.

THREES: (Child must be three years old prior September 1, 2016.) This program builds on the concepts introduced in Two’s and further develops a child’s spiritual growth, social interaction and cognitive development. Preschoolers are able to attend longer during circle time and follow simple directions in order to play cooperatively. Opportunities are provided for children to utilize their rapidly developing speech/language, and to explore the world around them.

Pre-Kindergarten: (Child must be four years old prior September 1, 2016.) Children in Fours will be practicing and mastering skills within the Pre-K PA Learning Standards for Early Childhood, which define domains of areas of learning that assure a holistic approach to instruction. All children are exposed to experiences that build their skill development in approaches to learning, social/emotional development, language/literacy development, physical or motor development, creative expression, and the cognitive areas of math, science and social studies. Deeper spiritual growth is explored as children begin asking questions about God; children develop a clearer understanding of each Fruit of the Spirit, and how they can act in ways that embody God’s love.

OPTIONAL AFTERNOON PROGRAMS
Note: all afternoon programs include time for lunch and a short play time.IT’S GAME TIME for 3 & 4’s: This class is all about games and what they can teach us. Children will play such things as bingo, golf, obstacle course, bean bag toss, checkers, bowling, patterns, memory, card and board games. Games contribute to children’s creative-thinking, decision making and problem-solving abilities while encouraging them to think about others’ thoughts and feelings. Learning to take turns, follow directions and strategize are important elements in fostering a child’s cooperative spirit.

ART: This class focuses on each child’s creativity. The class will allow our Pre-K children to experience many different art mediums including mod podge, clay, printing ink, fabric and mosaics. The child will also be encouraged to express his/her artwork with words. We will begin the year reading a story each week and the child will then use different art techniques (such as collage, papier-mâché) to show or express comprehension of the story. Later into the year, the class will combine creating with verbalizing in that each child’s work of art becomes a story. This is an exciting way for a child to discover the world around him/her.

EXPLORERS CLUB for 3’s: Staff will build on themes aroused by the children’s curiosity. These may include themes on: Animals, Transportation, Bible Stories, Fairy Tales, Communities, Circus, Dinosaurs or recreate the Olympics. The ideas are endless and exciting. Teachers will incorporate learning standards of all domains of Math, Science, Reading, Art, Music and Physical Education.

SENSATIONAL SCIENCE for 3’s: Welcome to our budding scientists! In this introduction to the field, children will get their hands messy while exploring what scientists do and why they do it. Topics are varied and far-reaching and always “hands-on”. One week might be soaring to the moon while the next may be plunging to the depths of the oceans. There are several scientific components woven into the topics such as data collection, hypotheses and prediction. Join us for a year of discovery!

GLOBETROTTERS for 4’s: In this class, children will have the chance to explore all of the fun and exciting aspects and cultures of their world. The Globetrotters will allow children to experience many new cultures and learn about other countries, including geography, traditions, climate and lifestyles. The themes that will be presented will consist of an introduction to the study of social sciences. In addition, the assortment of activities and projects, in which children will be exposed to at least one country from each of the seven continents, will culminate in the creation of a passport for each child, complete with the child’s picture and colorful stamps that will designate each of their “journeys.” This will be a wonderful keepsake from the class that children and parents will cherish. Along the way, new friendships will form and social skills will be enhanced through the positive interactions that will be cultivated. Won’t you join us on our adventures?

SENSATIONAL SCIENCE for 4’s: Calling all budding scientists! Our Pre-K science class will feature many intriguing scientific facts and concepts that will help youngsters develop an awareness of the scientific aspects of the world around them. This foundation of knowledge will be built by engaging young learners in a wide variety of hands-on activities, which will be sure to pique their curiosity and develop a love of science. We will introduce some basic scientific concepts, such as data collection and experimentation, in a fun and appealing manner. These activities and simple experiments will surely have children talking about what they learned once they get home. See you in “the lab!”

Integrated Monthly ProgramsChildren and Worship/Chapel with Miss Delinda Children learn that the worship center is a place where we talk and listen to God. Children experience Bible stories through three dimensional figures, are encouraged to ask questions and are lead into prayers of thanksgiving and praise.
Bells with Miss Delinda Children in the Fours classes have the unique opportunity to play hymns and songs of praise on the Bells. Preschoolers will be exposed to concepts of rhythm and melody as they learn and practice playing familiar songs and, at the same time, learn the meaning of “worshiping through music”.
Music with Dr. Rachel Whitcomb Twice a month, all our Preschoolers will have the opportunity to explore using their voices to learn to sing together and to utilize simple musical instruments to produce rhythmic sounds. The children will surely enjoy this experience as it will allow them to explore their own abilities as they relate to music.
Library with Miss Melanie Once a month our twos classes engage in interactive storytelling with Melanie Moore from Cooper-Seigel Library.
