Special Speaker Series

This series has been a popular one and features a variety of speakers on both Biblical and secular topics.  Past speakers have included staff from the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, Duquesne University, and local non-profit organizations.  Talks are typically held after the conclusion of the Traditional service on Sunday mornings, but some may be held on weeknights.  Please contact Elizabeth Carter, Adult Ministries team member, with ideas for speakers: carterelizabeth71@yahoo.com or 412-784-1939.

Friday Book Group

For our 29th year of meeting and discussing  books that help us grow in our faith and spiritual lives, we have chosen for our Spring 2024 season The Seeds of Heaven: Sermons on the Gospel of Matthew by Barbara Brown Taylor. Barbara Brown Taylor is an Episcopal priest, renown author, popular speaker and workshop leader - one of the "twelve most effective preachers in the English language" according to Baylor University. This book is a collection of fifteen sermons, three of them appearing here for the first time in print, based on readings from Matthew, including "Exceeding Righteousness" (Matthew 5:17-20), "The Problem with Miracles" (14:13-21), "Family Fights" (18:15-20), "Once More from the Heart" (18:21-35), "Beginning at the End" (20:1-16), and "On the Clouds of Heaven" (24:29-44).

We will meet by Zoom on Fridays through June from 9:30-10:30 AM, sharing leadership and encouraging and valuing all opinions. Everyone is welcome.  Join us!
