Read about our Mission Partners in our 2016 Missions Guide!Here is a list of the local and global ministries we support at FCPC: INTERNATIONAL MISSIONS & MINISTRIES Kirkuk Presbyterian Church and Kindergarten – as one of only three Presbyterian Churches existing in Iraq, this church has started several outreach programs into the predominately Muslim community including a kindergarten, a women’s prison ministry, and a Christian AM/FM radio station. Ministerio Senderos de Luz (Paths of Light Ministry) – for over five years, the ministry in Saint Lucia Milpas Altas, near Antigua, Guatemala, has been recruiting volunteers from the U.S. and Canada to help poverty-stricken Guatemalans who are in need of basics such as food and shelter. Haiti H2O – working with rural Haitian churches and communities to provide sustainable basic elements of life in rural Haiti, such as education, clean water, medical care, and micro-businesses. LOCAL MINISTRIES & ORGANIZATIONS All of Us Care | Volunteers for America -- mentoring and tutoring services for youth in Sharpsburg and surrounding neighborhoods. Backpack for Hunger - a collaborative effort between Fox Chapel area schools, local congregations, and individuals to provide weekend care bags and food for area children. Bread of Life Food Pantry - a ministry of Calvert Presbyterian Church in Etna, which provides free food distribution once a week. Brother’s Brother Foundation - a Pittsburgh-based charity that promotes international health and wellness by providing over $4 billion of medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, textbooks, food, seeds, and other humanitarian supplies to people around the world in 149 countries since 1958. Circles of Greater Pittsburgh - a once-a-month gathering aimed at helping individuals and families move out of poverty. The Circles program with which Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church works includes residents of Sharpsburg, Millvale and O’Hara Township. The monthly meeting is held at the Roots of Faith Ministry Center in Sharpsburg. Council of Three Rivers American Indian Center & Food Pantry - working to promote the socio-economic development of the Native American community, focusing mostly on food security and care of the elderly. East Liberty Family Health Center - witnessing to God's love, known in Jesus Christ, by empowering our patients through community centered, whole-person quality health care for all, which includes those who are uninsured, underinsured and underserved. Hosanna House, Inc. - a multi-purpose community center in Wilkinsburg whose mission is to provide opportunities that will empower families and individuals to discover, acknowledge and develop their maximum potential physically, spiritually and economically. Hosanna Industries - founded in 1990 as a faith-rooted, non-profit mission whose work involves a variety of charitable initiatives aimed at helping our impoverished neighbors including building and repairing homes for needy households; teaching classes; and training young people in construction skills. House of Manna Faith Community - located in Homewood, House of Manna is an African American centered, multi-ethnic missional community called to celebrate our life in Christ, cultivate our community in faith, and liberate everyday people for service in the Kingdom of God. Homewood Renaissance Association - working to close the poverty gap by creating critically needed programs for the Homewood area, teaching integrity, humility, accountability, excellence, teamwork, and respect for the dignity of others. Job training and job placement, as well as a youth/community house are among their newer, most successful programs. North Hills Community Outreach - is an interfaith organization of people helping people through life’s many challenges, addressing the needs of people living in crisis, hardship and poverty. Off the Floor Pittsburgh - is a local Christian volunteer ministry which, since 2004, has provided basic used furniture like beds, dressers, tables, and chairs to disadvantaged families who lack these items. Pittsburgh Urban Christian School - providing a Christ-centered education for students in grades K-8. St. Vincent de Paul Society and Food Pantry - serving over 120 families per month in the Fox Chapel area, along with assistance for housing, furniture, utilities, medical costs, transportation, and other financial emergencies. Sojourner House - is a faith-based residential rehabilitation facility where addicted women learn to break the inter-generational cycle of poverty and chemical abuse. The Neighborhood Academy - is a private, college preparatory high school located in East Liberty, designed to remove every barrier that prevents young people from thinking about their futures and the steps needed to achieve their goals. FOX CHAPEL PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH-LED MINISTRIES Pediatric Palliative Care Coalition - works to provide resources to families, volunteers and medical professionals caring for children with life-limiting illnesses. Donut and Bread Ministry - once a month, volunteers from our church delivers unsold bread & pastries from Oakmont Bakery to several ministries in East Liberty. FCPC Hunger Ministries - our garden supplies fresh produce to 3 Food Banks in the area!
