CONTEMPORARY WORSHIP LEADER

 

This position is under the supervision of the Senior Pastor/Head of Staff and reports to the Administration and Personnel Committee through the Senior Pastor.  This part-time, exempt position serves the congregation during the weekly contemporary worship service (and occasional other services and events). Anticipated weekly hours: 8-10.

 A.RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Collaborate with pastors, staff and volunteers in creative worship planning for the contemporary worship service;

  2. Take the lead in selection of music for contemporary service, in collaboration with the pastors and the worship band;

  3. Oversee musicians, both instrumental and vocal, and supervise any other paid band members;

  4. Coordinate and schedule participation of band members;

  5. Distribute music/chord charts to band members;

  6. Lead weekly rehearsals of the contemporary worship band;

  7. Attend contemporary worship planning/leadership team meetings (monthly or bi-monthly);

  8. Perform other duties when assigned by Senior Pastor, as appropriate

 

B.ACCOUNTABILITY

The Contemporary Worship Band Leader works under the supervision of the Senior Pastor/Head of Staff and reports to the Administration and Personnel Committee through the Senior Pastor.  They will work collaboratively with the pastoral staff, program staff and volunteers to meet the objectives of this role.  An annual evaluation will be conducted by the supervisor in conjunction with the Administration and Personnel Committee.

 

C.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES - This position supervises other paid band members, when necessary.

 

D.QUALIFICATIONS – To be successful, the incumbent will need to:

  1. Be committed to the Christian faith and demonstrate a personal relationship with Jesus;

  2. Be able to work creatively and collegially with staff and church members;

  3. Have strong communication and organizational skills;

  4. Have experience performing in worship band or leading contemporary worship;

  5. Have knowledge of a broad range of music that can be considered “contemporary” or “non-traditional”;

  6. Have instrumental skills on guitar or piano for rehearsals and performances;

  7. Have or obtain ACT 33/34 and FBI clearances (paid for by FCPC)

PRESCHOOL TEACHER

FCPC Preschool teachers lead developmentally appropriate lessons and activities that encourage a love of learning and healthy physical, social, and emotional development for students.  

Positions available: 

  • Monday/Wednesday/Friday, mornings, Threes  

  • Tuesday/Thursday, mornings, Twos 

  • Potential availability for lunch and afternoon hours. 

  • Substitute Teachers as needed

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Create and implement age-appropriate lessons and activities. 

  • Foster a classroom environment of safety and respect. 

  • Supervise activities in various meeting and play spaces. 

  • Engage students in an enriching learning environment. 

  • Keep parents and families updated on their students’ activities and progress. 

  • Attend staff meetings and in-services 

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Preschool Director. 

 

Requirements: 

  • High School diploma/GED. 

  • Enjoy working with young children. 

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. 

  • Ability to work creatively and flexibly. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience working in Education, Child Development or related fields. 

  • Bachelor's degree.

Church Childcare Provider

 Area of Ministry:   Christian Nurture

This part-time position is under the supervision of the Director of Children and Family Ministries and the direction of the Christian Nurture Committee and Session.  The Church Childcare Coordinator provides developmentally age-appropriate routines and activities in a safe learning environment on Sunday mornings, and other times as needed.  The Childcare Provider must maintain a physical learning environment that fosters optimal growth and development through opportunities for creative expression and exploration.  The Childcare Provider assumes a nurturing role with the children and provides leadership to the volunteer staff.  This position will be shared between three Childcare Providers.  Two will be needed at each event requiring childcare.

 

B.  RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Program and Development Planning

    1. Develop, implement and maintain an age-appropriate nursery program for children birth to 36 months on Sunday mornings during worship.

    2.  Provide childcare as needed for children of all ages during Sunday morning education hours.

    3.  Help provide childcare during evening activities or special services (Christmas Eve) as available.  

    4.  Maintain proper adult/child ratios in childcare settings

    5.   Maintain a safe, clean and organized environment. This includes wiping down all surfaces used during childcare services, sweeping the floor, carrying out the trash to the dumpster.

    6.   Mentor and provide on the job training for adult and youth volunteers.

    7.   Participate in the development and implementation of FCPC Kids curriculum and goals as needed.

    8. Meet with other childcare staff and  Director of Children and Family Ministry periodically to review program and make necessary changes.

  2. Communication and Documentation

    1.  Maintain positive oral communication with volunteers and Church families. 

    2. Work with the Director of Children and Family Ministry and the other Childcare Providers to ensure coverage for all childcare dates. 

    3.  Maintain children’s attendance and sign-in sheets.  Submit attendance and personnel timesheets to the Director of Children and Family Ministry at the close of each session.

    4.  Monitor classroom and equipment for safe, clean condition.

    5. Follow incident reporting guidelines and documentation.

  3. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor 

 

C.  ACCOUNTABILITY:  The Director of Children and Family Ministries  provides oversight and guidance through the Children’s Ministry Team and the Christian Nurture Committee.  

 

D.  SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Supervise any volunteers - giving them instruction and oversight when needed

 

E.  QUALIFICATIONS

  1. A minimum of two years’ experience in a leadership role in early childhood/child development or related fields is required.  

  2. Up to date FBI, State Police, and Child Abuse clearances must be on file in the Christian Nurture Office.  

  3. Successful completion of a TB test. 

  4. Successful completion and maintenance of emergency pediatric first-aid and CPR training for infants and children.

  5. Must be at least 22 years of age.

G. HOURS AND COMPENSATION

  1. Sunday mornings September-August, 9:00am-12:30PM  $65/session stipend

  2. Additional hours required for committee meetings, mid-week childcare, and special services, $15/hour plus holiday pay as determined by the Personnel Manual.
