FCPC Bell Choir
Rehearsals: Thursdays 6:30 pm

Join us as we ring the gorgeous handbells together! The choir plays about once a month in worship and for special services.

Contemporary Worship Band
Leading contemporary worship 

Our Contemporary Worship Band leads worship during the Contemporary Worship Service. Percussionists, guitarists, pianists, and singers are welcome. Participate in a one-hour worship service every Sunday at 9:30 am and a weekly rehearsal.

FCPC Chancel Choir
Rehearsals: Thursdays 7:30 pm

 

Our Chancel Choir offers traditional anthems in worship every week and leads music for special services during Lent and Advent. The group’s eclectic repertoire includes masterwork selections of choral literature and contemporary choral octavos of all genres and periods. The Chancel Choir is comprised of a professional core, and individuals who share a love of music and desire to use their talents to glorify God.

Dr. David Billings

Director of Music

Organist

David A. Billings is Director of Music Ministries and Organist at Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church. Previously, he was the Director of Music & Organist at Oakmont Presbyterian Church and the Minister of Music at Parkwood Presbyterian Church, Allison Park. Dr. Billings has also been the Accompanist for the Pittsburgh Concert Chorale from 1989-2019. As a recitalist, he has performed throughout the North America and Great Britain. Dr. Billings is a past Dean of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Guild of Organists and a former Chairman of the Organ Artists Series of Pittsburgh. Some of his performances have been featured on WQED-FM. Dr. Billings earned a bachelor’s degree from Penn State University, where he studied organ and harpsichord with June Miller. He received his master’s and doctoral degrees from the Eastman School of Music, where he was a student of the renowned American organist David Craighead. Billings was also formerly an Adjunct Professor of Organ and Sacred Music at Duquesne University.

Guy Russo

Director, Tenor

Guy Russo has been the Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church Chancel Choir Director for a little over ten years. He has been a part of the vocal music scene in the area for several decades. Russo has appeared as a soloist with the Pittsburgh Opera, Pittsburgh Symphony, and many other professional organizations. He has been the tenor soloist/section leader at Fox Chapel and Calvary Episcopal Churches, as well as First and Shadyside Presbyterian Churches, Rodef Shalom, and Temple Sinai. Guy was also the Choir Director at Community Presbyterian Church of Ben Avon during the 1990's. Russo has been the Fine Arts Chair at Sewickley Academy and the director of Upper School Vocal Music at The Ellis School. For two years Russo served as the Interim Director of the Pappert Men’s Chorale at Duquesne University, and is currently the Music director/Conductor of the Pittsburgh Savoyards, and choral director of the CMU Pre-College program. He lives in Forest Hills with his wife, Audrey, who sings alto in the FCPC Chancel Choir.

Kelly Fiona Lynch was most recently featured as Chrysosthemis in Elektra and Amelia in Simon Boccanegra with Chatham Concert Opera.  At Pittsburgh Festival Opera, she has also performed Waltraute in their recent production of The Valkyrie, as well as the role of Miss Darlington in Night Caps.  Kelly has been heard in the title roles of Aida,   Norma, Suor Angelica, Lucia di Lammermoor and La Traviata. Kelly's performances have taken her to Italy and Central America; she has also conducted masterclasses in San Jose, Costa Rica.  As a soloist, she has sung with the Erie Chamber Orchestra, Pittsburgh Philharmonic, Johnstown Symphony Orchestra, Westmoreland Philharmonic Orchestra and the Edgewood Symphony Orchestra. Based in Pittsburgh, Kelly is on the faculty at both Chatham and Seton Hill Universities, and is a founder of Aria412 Pittsburgh, a non profit that supports local singers and other artists.

Kelly Lynch

Soprano

Louise van Mook, mezzo-soprano,

has entertained audiences around the country in numerous opera and musical theatre productions and concerts, including Madame Flora (Baba) in The Medium, The Witch from Into the Woods, the Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors, Fantine in Les Misérables, Katisha in The Mikado, and the Monitor in Suor Angelica. She was a featured soloist in a recital series in England as part of the Cornish-American Song Institute in 2016.

Louise graduated magna cum laude and Pi Kappa Lambda with a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Hardin-Simmons University and cum laude with a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Converse College. She is also an accomplished violinist and has performed with choirs at Boston Symphony Hall, Carnegie Hall, and the Kennedy Center

Louise van Mook
Mezzo-soprano

Tenor Andrew Boag has performed the leading tenor role in a number of world premieres and contemporary operas, including Pygmalion by Kudich and Little Women by Adamo. He has sung with many local and regional opera companies: the Opera Theater of Pittsburgh, Opera Per Tutti in Cleveland, Opera Western Reserve in Youngstown, the Pittsburgh Savoyards, the Duquesne University Opera Center and more.  In 2017, Mr. Boag sang performances of Lensky in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin (in the original Russian) and Ruggero in Puccini’s La Rondine.  FCPC is proud to have an accomplished performer of oratorio and sacred music like Andrew as a part of our community of faith.

Logan Newman
Bass

Logan Newman is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University’s Vocal Performance Program where he performed in Into the Woods, The Tenderland, Assassins, Albert Herring, and L’Étoile.  While at CMU, Logan was privileged to perform with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra at Heinz Hall several times, as well as the Benedum Center, and at Carnegie Hall in New York City, sharing the stage with Metropolitan Opera stars and Broadway stars alike.  After a 7 and a half year break from performing, Logan joined the Pittsburgh Savoyards, where he met Marsreo Guy Russo. Most recently, he has played the Pirate King in The Pirates of Penzance, and Dr. Daly in the Sorcerer.  Logan is thrilled and honored to continue singing with the FCPC Chancel Choir.

Miss Hannah Roux is proud to serve the Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church as their Children's Choir Director. Being able to work with the children of FCPC and share music with the community is one of her favorite parts about being a teacher. In addition, she is currently an elementary music teacher in the Fox Chapel Area School District. She is looking forward to educating and providing the children in our community with musical experiences for many years to come! Hannah graduated from Duquesne University with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education.

Children's Choir Director

Jason Adams is proud to serve Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church as their Contemporary Worship Band Leader. Jason brings a wealth of knowledge and experience as he works with an incredibly talented team of volunteer band members. He has a passion for music and it shows each Sunday when he leads worship. His wife, Beda, is also a talented singer who occasionally joins the band to lead the congregation.
