We make a vow to the person or child being baptized, so it is important that the baptisms are for our church members or those who are becoming members of our faith community. If you are interested in joining the church, please see more on our Member ship Page. There is no age limit for baptism: some families have their infants baptized, some wait until the children complete the Confirmation Program, and adults often join the church through the Sacrament of Baptism. If you are seeking to have your child baptized, or you would like to talk to a Pastor about your own baptism, please contact the Church Office. INFANT BAPTISM GUIDELINES WEDDINGS Here at Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church, we believe marriage is one of God’s greatest blessings! Our sincere hope is that your wedding at FCPC will be a meaningful and sacred experience, a great launch into the joys and challenges of Christian marriage. Wedding ceremonies at FCPC are services of worship. Each couple works closely with our staff to plan a ceremony that gives glory to God, proclaims Jesus Christ, and invites the Holy Spirit to bless the couple and all in attendance. FCPC pastors are available for weddings of church members only at this time. Our organist/music director will consult with you to plan music and line up soloists or instrumentalists. The Sanctuary, Atrium, and grounds provide a wonderful backdrop for your wedding day photos , and a n ewly-renovated Bridal Suite is spacious and bright for the bridal party's preparations. If you would like to explore the possibility of having your wedding at the church or officiated by one of the pastors off-site, please contact the church office. Depending on your preferences, needs, or wishes, we will work with you to provide anything from a private dedication of ashes to a full worship service. We will: Arrange for and/or provi de the m usic for the service Wo rk with you and your family to decide on the service order Provide the bulletin for the service Provide a reception for family & friends (Upon Request Only) Work closely with area funeral homes and/or cemeteries We are here to walk beside you to make this service special for you and your loved ones. Our history and the ministries we started at FCPC. 1/1 WHO WE ARE Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church is a community of faith that has a rich tradition, vital new ministries, and an enduring legacy of mission outreach. OUR PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE The Rev. Bickford Lang, upon becoming the first pastor of Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church, wrote these words as a preface to the Purpose and Charter of Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church in 1953: “Let us have a church that dares imitate the heroism of Jesus; seek inspiration as He sought it; act on the present like Him; pray as He prayed; work as He wrought; live as He lived." In the early 1950s, a group of families living in the Fox Chapel area began to worship together at Shadyside Academy. They became some of the 339 charter members of Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church, which was officially organized in October of 1953. Two months later, the chapel was built on the corner of Fox Chapel Rd. and Field Club Rd., and worship services started to be held on the site of the present church. The church facility has grown to include a Christian Education building, a Fellowship Hall, and the Sanctuary, which was completed in 1964. In recent history, the congregation engaged in a program of mission support and extension of facilities, including new Christian Education classrooms, an Atrium, Memorial Garden and Columbarium. For more than sixty years, the members, leaders and pastors of Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church have continued in the tradition expressed by its first pastor. Thousands of men, women, and children, past and present, have made up this particular family of faith, and the tradition of Christ-centered ministry in the Fox Chapel area has become an enduring legacy. Afternoon Enrichment Classes Art Artful Adventures: Wednesdays until 2:15 PM Embark on an imaginative journey as we explore the worlds of Art and Music! Our young creators will discover the magic of creativity through colorful art projects, musical exploration, and hands-on experiences. Each week, children will be introduced to a different famous artist—from Vincent Van Gogh to Frida Kahlo—and explore how artists use color, shape, and imagination to share their ideas. They’ll also discover the joy of rhythm, sounds, and instruments as they experiment with music and learn how it connects to art. Through engaging stories, creative techniques, and interactive activities, our young artists and musicians will create, perform, and express themselves in new ways. Our budding artists will discover artists, past and present, as they experiment with different creative styles and media from Monet or Warhol. Push up your sleeves, don your smocks, and let your imagination take flight. Are you feeling inspired yet? Baking Mixin’ It!: Tuesdays until 2:15 PM Get the flour flowing as we prep for Mixin’ It! Creativity is the recipe for a whole lot of fun while we measure, mix, sift, and count cookies, cakes or muffins…with lots of fun surprises along the way. All we “knead” are excited helping hands to get the dough rolling. With the life skills learned and the confidence that will come, your family’s new little chef will be over the moon pie when all is said and done. So, let’s GET COOKIN’! Games Fun with Games!: Thursdays until 2:15 PM This after-school class is a playful, high-energy space designed just for preschoolers to relax, socialize, and have fun at the end of the day. Children explore a variety of age-appropriate board games and hands-on activities that encourage turn-taking, cooperation, and simple problem-solving. The fun continues with gross motor games like obstacle courses, movement challenges, and group games that help kids burn energy, build coordination, and strengthen large muscles. With a focus on joy, friendship, and active play, this class gives young learners a happy balance of calm tabletop games and active movement in a safe, supportive environment. Pickleball Pickleball Anyone?!: Mondays until 2:15 PM We're serving up some serious fun with our brand-new Pickleball class just for FCPCPS! This class will introduce our young players to the game in an active, engaging, and kid-friendly environment. Learn the fundamentals of Pickleball while developing essential skills like hand-eye coordination, reflexes, and teamwork. The rules are simple, so grab a paddle and have a ball with friends! We are delighted to share that Pickleball will be led by acclaimed coach, Mark Haffner, of On Your Mark Tennis. Mark has had over 20 years of teaching experience in tennis and racket sports. Welcome to FCPC! 1/1 WELCOME TO FCPC We invite you to join us for worship services and our wide range of programs including classes, mission & outreach projects, music, youth group, and children's programs. LOCATION Our church is in the borough of Fox Chapel, located 20 minutes northeast of downtown Pittsburgh. You can see the steeple from miles around. Find us on the corner of Field Club Road and Fox Chapel Road, near the Fox Chapel Area High School. Fox Chapel is a beautifully tree-lined residential area known for its parks, recreational clubs , and academics. Fox Chapel is bordered by Indiana, Harmar, and O'Hara Townships, and we are near the Borough of Sharpsburg. Our church building includes a large sanctuary, a chapel, and a fellowship hall. We also have an office area, FCPC Preschool classrooms, a youth room, a professional grade kitchen, a bridal suite, a gorgeous atrium, and other meeting spaces. Many of our members cherish the recently renovated Memorial Garden/Columbarium. Our lower level has many rooms that are used year-round. WORSHIP SERVICES Worshiping God together forms the heartbeat of our church. We regularly gather in three distinct worship services on Sunday mornings. The Cup & Loaf worship service is at 8:15 AM in the Chapel. Communion is a weekly staple during this service. Our contemporary worship service is at 9:30 AM in the Fellowship Hall and livestreamed on our FCPC YouTube page . Our traditional worship service is at 11:00 AM in the Sanctuary. This service is livestreamed on our YouTube page for those who cannot attend in person. At FCPC, we experience thoughtful, thematic liturgy, which includes the prayers and spoken responses of the congregation. Our music ranges from the majestic organ and professional quartet to acoustic guitar and a full worship band. All are welcome in our worship services! The notification should include name of stock, number of shares and how the donation is to be applied to your account. +++ Help offset FCPC's Presbytery membership assessment. The 2025 assessment is approximately $35,000, which represents $38.11 per member. Your contribution can help FCPC offset this obligation. Consider a Legacy Gift Consider making a legacy gift to the church that tells the story of your hope in Christ.
