Established in 1961, Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church Preschool is a place where children are loved and encouraged to explore their wonderful world... FCPC Preschool Director's Corner Welcome to FCPC Preschool Childhood should be a sacred space, a space for exploration and discovery. It should be a safe space where children can learn and take risks as they grow in confidence and understanding. It should be a space that exposes young minds to new ideas, new challenges, and new opportunities. Creating this space of learning through play is a platform and a model that FCPC Preschool fully embraces. There is such innate joy engaging children in this way. To witness their growth and confidence take root and grow is indeed a privilege. Creating this space requires strong leadership and a loving and motivated staff. It requires partnering with parents and families, working together to support our youngest learners. It requires commitment from all participants to embrace the love of learning. It requires a Christ-centered focus providing a firm foundation from which to launch. Allowing children this space is what FCPC Preschool does best. Karin Miller, Director of Preschool Ministries Amy Leigh Teele Preschool Art Show Amy Teele was the embodiment of joy. Her zest for life was contagious. Being in her presence brought laughter to your heart and a smile to your face. Nothing seemed to bring Amy down. Her example is one of a life fully and well lived. As many of you know, Amy was not only a beloved preschool teacher, but also a passionate Art teacher, and a devoted Sunday School teacher. Among the events that brought her joy, the annual Art Show held a particularly special place in her heart. This cherished event allows us to celebrate the creativity of our young artists, as their work is displayed for all to see. Each year, Amy would thoughtfully purchase art supplies for the preschool, carefully selecting materials that would spark the imaginations of the children in our care. Few understood the joy of the creative process quite like Amy did. With a unique ability to see the world through the eyes of a child, she knew just how to introduce ideas and materials that would inspire the children to create freely. In honor of her spirit, her dedication to creativity, and her unwavering belief in the joy of childhood and the love of learning, we are proud to announce that our annual Art Show will now bear her name. It is with great joy that we officially rename our annual Art Show in her honor. We dedicate this show to Amy, to the lasting impact she had on all of us, and to the creative spirit she so lovingly nurtured in each child. Established in 1961, Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church Preschool is a place where children are loved and encouraged to explore their wonderful world... Afternoon Enrichment Classes Art Artful Adventures: Wednesdays until 2:15 PM Embark on an imaginative journey as we explore the worlds of Art and Music! Our young creators will discover the magic of creativity through colorful art projects, musical exploration, and hands-on experiences. Each week, children will be introduced to a different famous artist—from Vincent Van Gogh to Frida Kahlo—and explore how artists use color, shape, and imagination to share their ideas. They’ll also discover the joy of rhythm, sounds, and instruments as they experiment with music and learn how it connects to art. Through engaging stories, creative techniques, and interactive activities, our young artists and musicians will create, perform, and express themselves in new ways. Let’s discover the magic together in Artful Adventures! Wherefore ART Thou?: Thursdays until 2:15 PM Let your imagination soar as we get creative with ART! Our budding artists will discover artists, past and present, as they experiment with different creative styles and media from Monet or Warhol. Push up your sleeves, don your smocks, and let your imagination take flight. Are you feeling inspired yet? Baking Mixin’ It!: Tuesdays until 2:15 PM Get the flour flowing as we prep for Mixin’ It! The fun continues with gross motor games like obstacle courses, movement challenges, and group games that help kids burn energy, build coordination, and strengthen large muscles. With a focus on joy, friendship, and active play, this class gives young learners a happy balance of calm tabletop games and active movement in a safe, supportive environment. Baptisms Baptism is available for the members of our church. We make a vow to the person or child being baptized, so it is important that the baptisms are for our church members or those who are becoming members of our faith community. If you are interested in joining the church, please see more on our Member ship Page. There is no age limit for baptism: some families have their infants baptized, some wait until the children complete the Confirmation Program, and adults often join the church through the Sacrament of Baptism. If you are seeking to have your child baptized, or you would like to talk to a Pastor about your own baptism, please contact the church office .
